REIMAGINE EDUCATION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Application & Conference Attendance

  1. All applications to the 2020 Reimagine Education Competition should be submitted in English only. The organizers reserve the right to reject and/or delete any project that is submitted in any language other than English, whether partially or wholly.
  2. All applicants should state an award category upon application. When no award category is selected, the organizers reserve the right to allocate uncategorized projects to an award category of their choosing.
  3. The organizers reserve the right to reallocate any application to a different award category at their discretion. In applying, applicants acknowledge the finality and non-negotiability of all such decisions.
  4. No applicant may apply to more than one award category with the same project. In the event of ambiguity existing with regards to a submission’s most suitable category, applicants will be expected to consult the organizers for guidance. In applying, applicants acknowledge that, in the event of an application being submitted to more than one category in identical or highly similar form, the organizers reserve the right to delete additional submissions at their discretion, and such additional submissions will forego eligibility for all Reimagine Education Awards in 2020.
  5. All applicants wishing to remain in contention for a 2020 Reimagine Education Award acknowledge that, in the event of their project being selected as a Category, Discipline, Regional, or Overall Winner, they will be expected to attend the 2020 Reimagine Education Conference. In applying, they acknowledge that non-attendance at the conference will result in their submission foregoing eligibility for this year’s Reimagine Education Awards.
  6. The organizers will endeavour to notify all applicants of their submission’s outcome. However, it is expected that the competition will receive a high number of submissions, and, in applying, applicants accept that the organizers may be unable to notify unsuccessful applicants individually.
  7. In applying, applicants acknowledge that all deadlines and/or dates pertaining to the 2020 Reimagine Education Awards are subject to change.
  8. All shortlisted applicants will be eligible for a presentation at the 2020 Reimagine Education Conference, to be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  9. In the event of a number of showcase slots remaining open after shortlisted applicants have responded to the invitation to showcase, non-shortlisted applicants may be invited to showcase their project at the judges’ discretion. Such invitations will be offered to the highest-scoring non-shortlisted applications. The organizers can offer no guarantees of such invitations, however.
  10. All applicants will be expected to fund their own travel to, and attendance at, the 2020 Reimagine Education Conference. In applying, applicants acknowledge and accept that the organizers accept no responsibility for any consequence – including, but not limited to, a loss of revenue or funding – arising as a result of a successful applicant being unable to attend the conference.
  11. In applying, applicants acknowledge and accept that no remote presentation opportunities will be possible. All applicants wishing to present their successful project at the conference will be expected to attend the event in person, or to send a delegate on their behalf to present their work and/or accept such awards as they may have won.
  12. Applicants wishing to present their work will be expected to make themselves available to attend all sessions on the first day of the 2020 Reimagine Education Conference. Though the organizers will endeavour to allocate showcases according to the travel arrangements of presenting applicants, they reserve the right both to allocate showcase slots at their discretion, and to refuse requests for a showcase slot to be moved. In applying, applicants acknowledge and accept that the organizers accept no responsibility for any consequence – including, but not limited to, a loss of revenue or funding – arising as a result of the organizers being unable to accommodate a request for a showcase slot to be moved.
  13. All applicants will be expected to book a ticket to the conference, or to have secured the ticket of a delegate representing them in lieu, before receiving eligibility for a showcase presentation. All applicants will be expected to confirm their attendance, or the attendance of a delegate representing them in lieu, by a deadline to be provided by the organizers. In applying, applicants acknowledge that the organizers accept no responsibility for any consequence – including, but not limited to, a loss of revenue or funding, arising as a result of shortlisted applicants failing to book a ticket at the conference before the deadline provided by the organizers.

Judging

  1. All applicants to the 2020 Reimagine Education Competition can expect their project to be judged by a minimum of three judges. All judges will work in the education sector, though the organizers reserve the right to subject projects to internal judgement where the capacity for external evaluation does not exist.
  2. All judging decisions made by the organizers, or by such individuals as the organizers perceive as suitable for selection as a Reimagine Education Judge, are final. In applying for the competition, applicants acknowledge the finality of all outcome decisions regarding their submission, or any other submission to the Reimagine Education Competition, and agree to accept all outcome decisions as such, except in situations where (a) fewer than three judges have evaluated their submission, or (b) it can be demonstrated that the integrity of the judging process was compromised. All judges are obliged to declare potential conflicts of interest when submitting their application to judge entries to the Reimagine Education Awards.
  3. Reimagine Education is not obliged to provide feedback to applicants. However, applicants are entitled to request feedback from the organizers. The organizers reserve their right to withhold feedback, or decline feedback requests, at their discretion.

Presentations

  1. All applicants seeking to present their work at the 2020 Reimagine Education Conference will be expected to present their work in English. This stipulation applies to all material and media pertaining to all presentations, including, but not limited to, Powerpoint and/or Prezi presentations, videos, spoken content, and all other audiovisual content. The organizers reserve the right to refuse any presentation submitted partially, or wholly, in any language other than English, and the organizers encourage all showcasing applicants to ensure that they are confident presenting their work in English.
  2. Showcase slots will be allocated on a one-presenter-per-project basis. The organizers reserve the right to reject any showcase proposals that require an individual presenter to present more than one project, and all applicants should ensure that, if they or their instituion, company, or organization wish to submit more than one application, and to present more than one of those hypothetically successful applications, they are able to send the appropriate number of delegates to the event.
  3. All applicants seeking to present their work at the 2019 Reimagine Education Conference will be expected to conform to all deadlines, requirements, and amendment requests pertaining to their showcase presentation. All applicants acknowledge that failure to comply with any deadlines or amendment requests may result in the loss of their eligibility to showcase at the Conference, and that, in such an event, the organizers accept no responsibility for any consequence, including but not limited to a loss of revenue or funding, arising as a result of an applicant losing their eligibility to showcase at the Conference.
  4. The organizers reserve the right to make any amendments or deletions to all material submitted to them for the purposes of presentation at the 2020 Reimagine Education Conference. The organizers will endeavour to consult with all showcasing applicants with regards to their presentation, but, in applying, applicants acknowledge that doing so is not an obligation.
