Dear Reimaginers,
There’s only one month left if you want to take your shot at winning one of 2019’s “Oscars” of Education: our call for submissions closes on September 1st at 23:59 BST. Don’t miss out on your chance to capture the attention of the world’s faculty, investors, edtech specialists, and students: apply today!
We’re delighted to have received nearly 1000 applications already, with edX, MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Imperial College Business School, and Warwick Business School among those undergoing the Reimagine application process. These household names are joined by a rich variety of institutions and companies from across the world, from the Universities of Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa; to Curtin, QUT, the University of Sydney, and the University of Queensland in Australia; to Singapore’s two flagship universities, the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University; to India’s University of Delhi and IIT Roorkee.
We’re also delighted to announce two more speakers for the event: Kathy Pugh, Vice-President of Education Services at edX, and Elmarié Potgieter, Founder & Managing Director of RITE International. Kathy will be leading our conversation on the future of online learning – with a particular focus on MOOCs, and what is being done to expand them to underserved educational communities – alongside Simon Nelson of FutureLearn and Justin Reich of MIT.
Ms. Potgieter has extensive international experience in leading the development, implementation and impact assessment of large-scale education transformation programmes. These capacity building programmes focus on educational leadership and pedagogical coaching, as well as curriculum framework development. At Reimagine 2019, she’ll be speaking alongside Harvard’s Julie Reuben and Louise Dube, Executive Director of iCivics, about the relationship between educational theory, educational praxis, and the inculcation of democratic values.
